The receiving room has just been filled with kittens. These babies will be 10 to 12 weeks old in two weeks when their isolation period is complete. If you are interested in a kitten, we would love to have you visit.
Stray cats seeking admission should be put on our waiting list. We will get to you as quickly as possible. If you simply arrive with cats and kittens, the outcome can be tragic for the animals. Usually there is no room to house them.
A very senior dog was admitted from dog control this week. She is a husky mix who is probably 10-plus years old. This is an absolutely sweet girl. She is a bit emaciated and needs some TLC before she goes up for adoption. If you can shelter a senior, please come and get to know her. We also have a yellow lab mix, two female rottie mixes and Snickers, our cattle-dog mix. Poor Snickers does not show well but he really has a wonderful personality. Come spend some time with him. Macy, one of our female rottie mixes, has been placed twice and returned. These failures were not the fault of the dog or of the prospective owners - it was just not a perfect fit. This demonstrates why we are so serious about matching dog and owner. Even when everything seems fine, it sometimes does not work. Macy has separation anxiety but, when someone is kind to her, she falls instantly and helplessly in love. This girl would do best with an owner who is at home with her.
